Frequently Asked Questions
Learn more about Brightly’s services, memberships, assessments, and approach to proactive, whole-of-person ageing.
What is Brightly?
Brightly is a preventative health and wellbeing service designed to help people live well, stay independent, and age confidently. We combine whole‑of‑person assessments, personalised Care Plans, coordinated clinical support, and community‑based services.
Who is Brightly for?
Brightly is ideal for people who want to be proactive about their health, strengthen independence, and improve health span. Many members are aged 55+, but there is no strict age limit.
How does Brightly differ from traditional healthcare?
Traditional care often begins after illness. Brightly focuses on prevention — identifying silent or early signs of decline and providing tailored support before problems escalate.
What is the Brightly Whole-of-Person Assessment?
Your Brightly journey begins with a Whole‑of‑Person Health Assessment. This includes physical, cognitive, emotional, social, environmental, and financial wellbeing domains. We test for 64 biomarkers, across 260 data points to understand your base line health levels, frailty score, risk areas and targeted interventions with the goal of slowly decline or intervening early.
What does the assessment include?
Our Brightly nurse will take you through an in-depth assessment of 13 key health domains, including:
- Strength, Mobility & Balance
- Bone Health & Falls Risk
- Health Mind (including cognition and memory)
- Health Sleep
- Nutrition and Diet
- Hearing, Vision and Oral Health
- Medication Optimisation/Safety
- Bowel Health
- Urinary Health
- Pain (arthritis)
- Safe Driving
- Legal Planning
- Financial Planning
Who performs the assessment?
A Brightly nurse leads your assessment, supported by our multidisciplinary clinical team (geriatricians, GPs, physios, occupational therapists, dietitians, psychologists, pharmacists, and more). This is where the magic happens – understanding how each domain of health overlaps, but have all specialists reviewing your file together, to shape one coordinated solution across all elements of health.
Where does the assessment take place?
Assessments can be completed at a Brightly Clinic or a Brightly Health Hub.
Who is part of the Brightly clinical team?
Our multidisciplinary team includes geriatricians, GPs, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, dietitians, psychologists, and health coaches.
How do referrals to specialists work?
If a need is identified, your Brightly clinician will coordinate a referral through the Brightly Network — our trusted ecosystem of partner providers (optometry, dental, audiology, podiatry, legal, financial, and more). We manage the transition for you.
Is specialist care included in my membership?
Specialist services are provided by external partners and may involve additional costs.
Where is Brightly available?
Brightly services are currently available in select regions, with more Health Hubs opening soon.
Do members get digital access?
Yes. Members receive access to the Brightly Member Portal, where they can:
- View their Care Plan
- Track progress and wellbeing metrics
- Book sessions or events
- Access educational resources
- Share their careplan with family?
Is my information secure?
Absolutely — we follow strict privacy, data protection, and clinical governance standards. (Link to Privacy Policy.)
How do I pay for my membership?
Most members pay via direct debit or credit card.
Can family members be involved in my care?
Yes — many members choose to involve their spouse, children, or trusted supporters (with your consent). We encourage family participation.
Do you work with my GP?
Yes. We can share assessments, insights, and recommendations with your GP (with your consent) to support coordinated care.
What if I need urgent or emergency care?
Brightly is a preventative service and does not provide emergency treatment. In an emergency, please call 111 or seek local urgent care.
